Sjoerd van Wijk is a Dutch film and music journalist based in Nijmegen (The Netherlands) that couldn’t resist making a film himself any longer. Yearmates was his first professional project as a writer and director and screened at various international film festivals. He not only writes (about) films but publishes short stories as well. Besides a vast knowledge of cinema, long walks, dreams and philosophy inspire his fiction work. His new short film The Tripsitter was shot in his home region just like Yearmates.
